OCTG 7″ 26# G3-110 ULTRA FJ R3

This 7″ 26# G3-110 ULTRA FJ R3 casing is made from Alloy G3 (UNS N06985), a cold-hardened nickel-based alloy engineered for high-strength performance in highly sour (H₂S) and chloride-rich environments, with temperature resistance up to 400°F. Its elevated nickel and molybdenum content provides exceptional resistance to chloride attack, dissolved oxygen, and acid gas exposure, making it a top choice for HPHT wells and saltwater injection applications. The ULTRA FJ connection enhances operational integrity with a high-performance seal built to withstand the extreme loads of challenging downhole environments.

During this phase of PipeFacts™, material is received into one of our regional storage and inspection hubs, and we put material through a more detailed inspection. Our teams of inspectors inspects the pipe body for traceability and potential body defects and inspects the threads while a quality team in the office evaluates the as produced specification of the material test reports (MTRs).

Disclaimer: The burst and collapse figures displayed are based on the API dimension tolerance of 87.5% of nominal wall thickness. Note that martensitic, duplex, super duplex, and nickel alloys often have tighter dimensional tolerances, therefore, increased strength ratings. The properties do not factor connection performance ratings. If your application requires more information ratings, please contact our technical services team, and we happily assist you.

Alloy Description

Alloy G3 (UNS N06985) is a cold-hardened nickel-based alloy designed for corrosion resistance in highly sour (H2S) environments with high chloride levels, offering high strength up to 400°F.

With its elevated nickel and molybdenum content, G3 extends the sour service capabilities of nickel alloys, while also delivering exceptional resistance to chlorides and dissolved oxygen. As a result, it is frequently used in downhole tubular components, packers, and other subsurface equipment for severely sour wells operating under high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) conditions, saltwater injection wells, and Acid Gas Injection (AGI) wells. However, it is essential to evaluate all environmental factors, including H2S, CO2, temperature, pH, and chloride concentration, before finalizing material selection.

For sour service conditions, G3 is classified as a type 4d alloy in MR0175/ISO15156, with no restrictions on H2S partial pressure below 300°F and capable of withstanding 300 psi H2S at 425°F.
