OCTG 10.125″ 79.29# 13CRM-110 VAM SLIJ-II R3

The 10.125″ 79.29# 13CRM-110 VAM SLIJ-II R3 casing is manufactured from Modified 13 Chrome (13CRM), a quenched and tempered martensitic stainless steel engineered for improved corrosion resistance in sweet (CO₂) environments with chloride exposure. Designed to perform at temperatures up to 350°F, this alloy offers enhanced strength and pitting resistance compared to standard 13Cr, making it suitable for deeper wells with elevated pressures and temperatures. Paired with the high-performance VAM SLIJ-II connection, this casing delivers strong sealing integrity and mechanical reliability. Note: For sour service or environments with high chloride concentrations, higher-grade alloys may be more appropriate.

During this phase of PipeFacts™, material is received into one of our regional storage and inspection hubs, and we put material through a more detailed inspection. Our teams of inspectors inspects the pipe body for traceability and potential body defects and inspects the threads while a quality team in the office evaluates the as produced specification of the material test reports (MTRs).

Disclaimer: The burst and collapse figures displayed are based on the API dimension tolerance of 87.5% of nominal wall thickness. Note that martensitic, duplex, super duplex, and nickel alloys often have tighter dimensional tolerances, therefore, increased strength ratings. The properties do not factor connection performance ratings. If your application requires more information ratings, please contact our technical services team, and we happily assist you.

Alloy Description

The Modified 13 Chrome alloys, including 13CRM and HP-1, are quenched and tempered martensitic stainless steels designed for corrosion resistance in sweet (CO2) environments with chloride exposure, operating at temperatures up to 350°F. Compared to standard 13 Chrome, these alloys offer enhanced strength and corrosion resistance, particularly in higher-temperature and higher-chloride conditions. This makes them suitable for use in deeper wells with elevated pressures and temperatures, commonly found in downhole tubular components, packers, and other subsurface equipment.

While the Modified 13 Chrome alloys provide better resistance to pitting corrosion than 13Cr L80, they remain susceptible to localized corrosion, stress corrosion cracking (SCC), and sulfide stress cracking (SSC). As such, higher-performance alloys are recommended for applications in sour service or environments with high chloride content.
