Super Duplex 25 Chrome (25CRS) is a cold-hardened duplex stainless steel with a Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) ≥ 40, offering exceptional resistance to localized corrosion, including pitting and crevice attack in chloride- and oxygen-rich environments. Rated for service temperatures up to 450°F, 25CRS is suitable for sweet (CO₂) and moderately sour (H₂S) service and is qualified under MR0175/ISO 15156 for use in environments with H₂S partial pressures up to 3.0 psi. Super Duplex is commonly used as tubing, casing, or liners, as well as other downhole equipment such as base pipe for sand screens, packers, or extensions in demanding well conditions such as those found in Carbon Capture (CCUS), Geothermal, and Seawater and Water Disposal (SWD) wells.
