OCTG 9.625″ 53.5# 13CRS 110 Vam 21 SC80 SB R3

In transit to Coevorden, Netherlands. Super 13 Chrome delivers enhanced mechanical strength and superior resistance to CO₂, H₂S, chlorides, extreme pH, and high temperatures compared to standard 13 Chrome, making it ideal for demanding oilfield applications like deep, high-pressure and high-temperature wells. Its increased durability enables use as base pipe for screens, casing, and swell packers in corrosive environments with CO₂ and low H₂S content, while offering better performance than Modified 13 Chrome in mildly sour or chloride-rich conditions. VAM® 21TM is the latest generation of Threaded & Coupled (T&C) premium connection introducing an innovative and revolutionary design. Confidence thanks to ISO 13679 CAL-IV compliance within the full pipe body envelope extends the opportunities for your well designs. VAM® 21TM is the highest performing and most reliable VAM® connection to date with excellent gas tight sealing under combined loads, extreme compression resistance (100%) and innovative VAM® Effect with the VAM® Stabilizer™. Seal and shoulder functions are separated so that torque and compression have no affect on the sealing performance.

Field Inspection Complete!

In this first step of our PipeFacts™ quality assurance process, we send our field services team to inspect material in its stocked location. During the initial evaluation, we ensure that this material is suitable for acquisition and suitable for prime applications. Once the field inspection is complete, we move material to one of our regional storage and inspection hubs for further inspections.

Disclaimer: The burst and collapse figures displayed are based on the API dimension tolerance of 87.5% of nominal wall thickness. Note that martensitic, duplex, super duplex, and nickel alloys often have tighter dimensional tolerances, therefore, increased strength ratings. The properties do not factor connection performance ratings. If your application requires more information ratings, please contact our technical services team, and we happily assist you.

Alloy Description

The Super 13 Chrome alloys, including UNS S41426 and HP-2, are quenched and tempered martensitic stainless steels designed for corrosion resistance in sweet (CO2) and mildly sour (H2S) environments with moderate chloride content, effective up to 350°F.

Compared to standard 13 Chrome, Super 13 Chrome alloys offer enhanced mechanical properties and improved resistance to CO2, H2S, chlorides, pH variations, and high temperatures. Their higher strength and better temperature performance make them suitable for deeper wells with high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) conditions, where they are used in downhole tubular components, packers, and other subsurface equipment. Additionally, Super 13 Chrome alloys exhibit superior resistance to H2S and chlorides compared to Modified 13 Chrome, making them ideal for mild sour environments.

UNS S41426 is listed in NACE MR0175/ISO 15156 Table A.19, with a recommended limit of 1.5 psi partial pressure of H2S. It is classified by API 5CRA/ISO13680 as Group 1, Category 13-5-2 alloy, approved for sour service in the 95 ksi yield strength condition.
